About Us 

Anchor Baptist Church is a church that strives to be balanced in our approach to serving the Lord. In our literature and on this website, we encourage people to "Come See the Difference." We do this because we believe that our view of serving the Lord is different from the status quo of many modern churches. It is our belief that a church can be firm in doctrine, yet maintain a loving spirit and an open door for both saints and sinners.

We are an independent church in our associations. This means that our membership alone determines what the Lord would have us to do with our finances, ministries, and missions. No outside entity has the right to supersede the will of the church and it's Divine direction.

We are a fundamental church in our doctrine. It is our belief that while some practices in the modern church are open to preference, the doctrines of the church are set in stone by the Word of God. There must be certain beliefs and doctrines that are essential to the Christian faith. We believe in the Inerrancy of Scripture, the Sinfulness of Man, The Virgin Birth of Christ, the pure Blood Atonement, and The Rapture of the Church.

Lastly, we are a Baptist church in our practice. While we recognize there is a large "variety" among Baptists in general, we do hold the traditional Baptist Distinctives of our denomination. We believe that a person needs to be saved by faith, prior to being baptized. That baptism must be administered under the authority of the church and must be by immersion. This type of baptism is symbolic of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection.

Anchor Baptist Church is a family church, that teaches traditional family values. Our ministries and activities are designed not to take the place of parents of the family unit, but to help and encourage it. In placing our families in an environment that clearly teaches the Word of God, our homes will be stronger and our church will be stable.
